Heguru Malaysia has an interesting history. It all began when Ms Yuly Tam, the founder of Heguru Malaysia, was introduced to the brain development programme from Japan in 2008. This programme does not only changed her perspective towards children development but made a positive difference in the early childhood education field in Malaysia.

Coming from conventional upbringing, Ms Yuly found herself having learning difficulties. She learned slower compared to her peers and this condition affected her academic performance. However, that did not stop her but instead, she worked harder and continued to further her tertiary education in Australia. She completed her double degree in the field of Marketing and Human Resource Management from University of Southern Queensland, Australia. Upon completion of her studies, Ms Yuly started her career in a few corporations where she obtained a strong foundation for her management and entrepreneurship skills.

However, soon she realized it wasn’t her true passion. Alongside her duty as a mother, she fell in love working with children. Later on, she pursued her studies with a diploma in early childhood education. She loved every moment of her being a mother and truly realized this was her passion in life. She finds her work meaningful and glad that she can help children to improve. Then, in 2004, she established a Montessori based nursery with the aim of spending more time with her child. She soon realized that she could provide more to other children. As she experienced learning difficulties herself, she wished to help children to be able to learn faster and easier. She strived to improve and injected a new learning approach in education.

This is how Heguru vision started. Part of busy life in Klang Valley, the first “Heguru Education Laboratory (M) Sdn Bhd”, also known as Heguru Malaysia centre opened its doors in April 2009. It took almost one year of preparation for Ms Yuly and her team of experts from various fields before it’s finally opened. Through the years, Heguru has grew with another 4 centres in Malaysia. She believed Heguru teaching and learning approach helps children to reach their potential so they have the ability to face life’s challenges. She feels happy when she sees this tailored made programme has created a unique early childhood education designed to meet the needs of children of all ages and abilities.

To some extent, it can be said that the left and right brain has totally opposite characteristics. The right brain processes images and data at a high speed subconsciously.
